Xubuntu R9-290x and 7950

edited January 2014 in Hardware

I am currently using a r9-290x and I would like to add a7950 (found cheap 2nd hand)
I am under xubuntu.

Is there something particular to do?
How do you do the mapping to a specific card?

Can i run both card with different config in the same cgminer?

  • hi,
    If you want to have different pools by cards, you need to launch multiple instance of cgminer, but if you use same pools on all cards, and if you use a config file, just add values with comma, like this (I'm using 1xhd7950 plus 1 poor hd6450 at this time):

    "intensity" : "20,13",
    "vectors" : "1",
    "worksize" : "256",
    "lookup-gap" : "0",
    "thread-concurrency" : "21712,3200",
    "shaders" : "1792,160",
    "gpu-engine" : "1000-1100,625",
    "gpu-fan" : "0-85",
    "gpu-memclock" : "1250,500",
    "gpu-memdiff" : "0",
    "gpu-powertune" : "0",
    "gpu-vddc" : "1.115,0.975",
    "temp-cutoff" : "95",
    "temp-overheat" : "85",
    "temp-target" : "70",
    "auto-fan" : true,
    "auto-gpu" : true,
    "expiry" : "120",
    "failover-only" : true,
    "gpu-dyninterval" : "7",
    "gpu-platform" : "0",
    "gpu-threads" : "1",
    "log" : "5",
    "no-pool-disable" : true,
    "queue" : "1",
    "scan-time" : "30",
    "scrypt" : true,
    "temp-hysteresis" : "3",
    "shares" : "0",
    "device" : "0,1",
    "no-submit-stale" : true

  • Thanks for the info.
    Silly question, how do I know which card is which when you put 2 values?

  • use cgminer -n
    GPU 0 use first value
    GPU 1 the second
    GPU 2 use the third,

    and so on....
